I could not ignore this. This day just keep getting better. Piling up together with some other very good personal news, I just found out Anna Wintour has been chosen to unite that elite group of great British minds. She will now be an Officer of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. I can easily die happy now.

ANNA WINTOUR has received the royal seal of approval, being named an Officer of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire - or OBE - in the Queen's birthday honours list.
The iconic fashion maven, who is most famous for spearheading American Vogue but was also editor-in-chief of British Vogue from 1986 to 1987, won the honour for "services to British journalism and British fashion in the US".
Among the other fashion names included in the prestigious list, revealed yesterday, were Louise Wilson, who is the course director for Central Saint Martins' renowned master's degree in fashion, and designer Wale Adeyemi; they earned an OBE and MBE respectively, for services to the industry.

Wow, what an amazing addition to her already long list of achievements! She certainly has contributed so much to fashion journalism and she fully deserves this honour.
Wowz! As if her life wasn't awesome enough already.
That's great to know. This is only one of her great accomplishments. Fantastic blog!

It's new.
I met her once and she was so freaking intimidating! This sounds like another element that will add to the intimidation-factor.
who knew that being in the fashion industry could get you in the good graces of the Queen?
Well done, Anna!
It is very cool. I am DYING to know what she is going to wear!
She's BRITISH???
Hmmmm, that explains a lot...
nice news !! so in five years, i guess roitfeld will win the same prize but in france !!
Crazy stuff, great post!
This year they got it very fashion-y, didn't they?
I could have field day with this but it would be so trite!
"Officer of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire", (léase con acento British British), casi nada!
I really love her honey colored bob. I saw an earlier Youtube video of her with a dark brown one, but I quite like this one. And HILA, do tell MORE!!
my friend worked for Vogue and I met her through him (and was with him at New York Fashion week last year). That's about it really :) She is, of course, annoyingly and perfectly put-together.
