Marc Jacobs —with a kicking new look— advances Spring and takes Marie Antoinette on vacation to Wonderland. Nymphs and fairies dance along in the asian forests while it rains gauze flowers.

The Vuitton woman looks romantic as ever, with flowers all around and pale pink fabrics masterly combined with white and bone and opaque colors. Volumes —already introduced in most of the F/W'06 collections— bring movement and sheerness to the skirts, which play the leading role this season, and tops and jackets. The rest of the volume is brought in by the surprisingly pretty puffy shoulders and some of the waists, which far from being unflattering, make the shapes move as if wind was actually blowing on the catwalk. Now, ladies, put all your washed jeans in the back of the closet cause super new-looking denim comes to stay for a while and is not alone; those classic musts, our beloved blue oxford shirts, reborn for this Spring (and not only for LV)

Last, but DEFINITELY NOT least, the Vuitton accesories! Oh the bags...! As it could be expected, after the storm comes the calm. I'm afraid you won't be able to use your dearest oversized bags —poor Birkins— for they will be replaced for small handbags. White is the absolute protagonist, but the fairy world shows up sticking flowers to them and joining the shiny gold chains and holdings that are also trend for this coming season. Cushion fabrics —as I like to call them— in green and sand colors HAD to make a cameo for this flowery-themed collection. For a final touch, sheet-lenght foulards in gauze and in white, but also bone coloured, complete the S/S look for woman.
Paul Helbers is the name of Jacob's collaborator and responsible for the creation of the men's wear.

As weird as it can sound, this season's inspiration has been discribed by Helbers as a "Victorian England meets Hawaii". But once you take a look at the outfits displayed on the runway you realize it ain't no crazy statement. What else could express the combination of outrageous and undefined prints on shirts, scarves and ties? Blazers, cotton cardigans and perfect cutted suit-like trousers inject the Victorian vibe. Electric and cyan blue are just all over the place, and I'm not talking about LV only, keep that in mind. Maho-necked shirts in plain colors are tucked in the pants and join waistcoats and leather jackets to culminate the male look.

Again, I leave accesories for the end, for Louis Vuitton is well-known for its craftsmanship. Three words: shoes, shoes, shoes. Silverly, sportly, in suede, sneackers and even flip-flops mixed up with the gorgeous-looking trousers. Belts narrow down and combine new materials with vintage metals. Men bags dind't quite amazed me this time, but they do appear with every outfit.
"In a dream" could summarize what I felt watching this collection and stunning would be the word for the ever-surprising work of Mr. Jacobs.
I invite you to take a look at my HIGHLIGHTS as well as checking out the whole thing on the web.
Cheers!

How a lovely collection!
I like the women one, they look so pretty (all of us know they are professionals and so beautiful...).
But I don't like the males one... they look so strange... ú.u
Byes and kisses!!!
I love your blog. I think you should be studying fashion or something like that. I love this sentence: "Nymphs and fairies dance along in the asian forests while it rains gauze flowers." I find it really funny, don't ask me why. And obviously, I love the male models who appear in the pics, they are so cute... and their clothes are so handsome. Your blog is wonderful!!!
