Fashion Week Favourites: Reed Krakoff's 'Boxer' & 'Antlantique' bags

Every season, during fashion month, there are two or three accessories that editors, buyers and fashion lovers alike go crazy about. It's usually something that hasn't even stores yet or that the rest of us mortals have failed to identify as a future hit because, well, we sort of need them to lead.
Last season I blogged about the super popular Fendi 'Chameleon' shoe that was all the rage in Milan and Paris. This time around it's all about the Reed Krakoff bags. Even though they're not exactly a new thing – you might remember I blogged about them back in 2010 – it has taken them a little while, like any other new brand, to catch people's attention. But it's done it in a grand way. So many fashionistas, from Rachel Zoe to Julianne Moore and Emily Weiss have been sporting them all through New York Fashion week only a couple of weeks ago. They're first model, the 'Boxer', seems to be Zoe's favourite while Moore went for the newer funkier 'Atlantique'.
The FW12 show was also packed with ready-to-wear hits that I predict will only become bigger. But, for me, the protagonist of the latest collection were the shoes. The croc and leather boots they showed for winter have this super sexy feel but they're tough too.

Meet Reed Krakoff

I had an accessories post prepared for today. I wanted to share my favourite bags and shoes for this winter but as I went through endless products on e-shops I kept going back to a specific bag. I don't know if you had heard of Reed Krakoff before. It turns out he has been the executive creative director of the infamous Coach for years. Which is why it came as even a bigger surprise how beautiful these bags are. Net-a-Porter sells a couple of his styles but my favourite has got to be the Boxer II in the tan leather with alligator and cream felt. It's the epitome of a contemporary timeless bag. In fact, it looks like the love child of a Birkin (flap pocket and belted around) and a PS1 (strap closure); a combination that equals perfection. And just as its love parents it comes in several colours and materials such as black leather and olive felt, beige suede or black and grey leather. I see popular fashion lovers the likes of Olivia Palermo going from Tribeca to the upper East side carrying one of these just as easily as I can picture my sister taking it to uni. The bad news is they start at £965 on the simpler models and they reach over £3000 for the alligator pieces.
