I used to be the biggest Vogue US fan. I'd buy it every month when I still lived in Spain and wondered at what Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington pulled together and how all their work was always shot by Testino and Demarchelier. At some point during the last two years my adoration for the American bible slowly faded away to the point of (almost) oblivion. Well, their July 2010 issue has restored my faith in the magazine. Mario Testino has shot Marion Cotillard for the cover of their latest issue and, while I don't care much for the boring cover, I do love the spread inside. I can't wait to have this issue in my hands!
There is a strong Dior vibe throughout the whole editorial. It has that sort of vintage feel of nostalgia for the lost glamour of the 30's that John Galliano loves so much. But this looks fresher that Galliano's creations. Every single picture and outfit and pose is simply stunning. Testino has had some week months this year but it seems he's finally got his mojo back.
Which magazine do you always buy?
I'm off.
