MTV Movie Awards- I want to be a designer dressMTVmovieawards11wannabes
It's funny that the MTV Movie Awards were the night before the CFDA awards. Despite a handful of the usual stylish celebrities this is probably one of the most unfashionable annual events, only topped by the Billboard Awards.

Looking through the pictures it stroke me as funny that quite a lot of attendees opted for smaller brands that are not necessarily renowned in the industry. Next to some of this choices the typical Marchesas that I always hate would have looked like Givenchy Couture.
But there were three dresses that were not only a big fat miss but that seemed to have been a little to inspired on some designers' big hits. Kate Cassidy showed up in a white crochet Catherine Malandrino, which looked like a poor home-made attempt at one of this season's Docle & Gabbana white dresses. Nikki Reed, in a Heather (?!) dress, evoked Lanvin in more of a Snooki than Alber manner. And Nina Drobrev, who I still haven't seen wearing anything not tacky, slipped into a Georges Chakra prom version of Decarnin's hit looks for Balmain.

let the sunshine in

On Wednesday night I attended the opening of the musical Hair in London. I came intrigued and left excited, astonished and utterly inspired. It seems shocking how the hippies, a sociological movement that happened so many years ago can feel so current and still inspire fashion nowadays. The Broadway cast, which showed the reason why the show is still so popular, strolled around stage in the most fun combination of flared and patched-up denim, tasseled suede and tie-dye colours.

I left the show as happy as can be and waiting for the moment to get home and put together a collage like the above that, to be fair, doesn't so much justice to the theatrical experience. I encourage you to get yourself tickets for the show asap and, in the meantime, to enjoy the soundtrack. I will be surprised if you can stop singing "Let the sunshine in" for even a minute. I know my flatmate can't.
I'm off.
