Get the Look: Olivia Palermo at the couture shows
StockholmStreetStyle, Style.com
I realised today it had been ages since I had last seen Olivia Palermo before this week's couture extravaganza in Paris. I know there are as many fans of hers as there are foes but it's pretty evident that, at least in terms of style, she is simply spotless.
She looked drop-dead-beautiful yesterday as she made her way into the Valentino Couture show in Paris. She wore, of course, Valentino – a delicate pink number from the spring/summer 2012 collection. I love the fact that she added a chic narrow white belt (not pictured) because it added a a more formal touch to the look. I love the volume it crates on the back.
Olivia accessorised the dress with one of my favourite pairs ever: the crystal embellished suede Giuseppe Zanotti sandals. I actually blogged about them over a year ago and you can now get the cream version with 50% off from Net-a-Porter! She finished off the look with her favourite Wunderking cat's eye sunglasses, which she has been wearing since the good old times of 'The City'.

What do you think of Olivia's look?

Shoe Porn Friday- Sales Edition

Shoe Porn Friday: Sales Edition
Net-a-Porter.com
I don't know about you but I am quite happy with all the bits and bobs I have found on the online sales this season. It hasn't been the greatest year for selling winter wear, which has translated in really good discounts. It's always a good chance to get some Christmas presents as well as the perfect time to find exactly what you needed to wear on New Year's Eve.
Having the holidays in mind I had a look at the amazing sale that Net-a-Porter has on shoes at the moment. I thought I would find the best pieces for a Shoe Porn Friday. And I did. I love these Giuseppe Zanotti suede ankle boots. They're super classic, which you know I like, but the chiffon ruffles at the front give them character and add glamour. I can easily see someone like Giulia (who would probably die over these) wearing them for one of many family Christmas dinners.
However, if these are not quite your cup of tea head over to Net-a-Porter, they still have quite a lot of other shoes, accessories and apparel with amazing discounts.

It's almost Christmas!

HPespañamay11If magazines didn't have to go to print weeks before their release I'd think that Harper's Bazaar España reads Know Wear. The new cover and some extracts from their May issue came out today with Bambi Northwood-Blyth in Pucci on the cover. On the inside story, 'Fabulosos Setenta' ('Fabulous Seventies'), the model wears the Giuseppe Zanotti embellished shoes I raved about yesterday!
I was obviously thrilled to see them in an editorial as well. The rest of it, shot by Nico and styled by Juan Cebrián, is very simple but effective, with a touch of retro. Very HB España and in line with my taste too. As is the cover, which is pretty much clear of text. They way it should be.

I went mad when I first saw these shoes yesterday. I was going through old Style.com videos and found this one of Caroline Issa, fashion director of Tank magazine, wearing them. I can't quite explain why I'm so amazed by these Giuseppe Zanotti crystal-embellised shoes. There is something dreamy about the way Caroline wears them and how they glisten under the Parisian sun. What do you think?
If you're as keen as I am you can get your own pair from Net-a-Porter here. Mind you, they go into the four digits!

PS. I borrowed the term "shoe porn" from Coco's Tea Party. There was simply no other way to describe it.

superheroIt seems like Miu Miu set the trend to take inspiration from comic books to dress for the new season. But it's not only them that have found a modern and sexy approach to it. Looking through what online shopping has to offer for SS11 it seems only evident that leather is king, whether on shoes, skirts or dresses, and that a big part of the clothes are looking to find a sexy way around comfy clothes. With big superhero films coming up in the next few months I wanted to have a look at what fashionable heroines should be wearing for Spring.

Clockwise from top right: Dion Lee pleated chiffon dress, Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, Miu Miu skirt, Versace cutout sandals, Christian Louboutin peep toe shoes,  Acne wedge boots, Chloé leather dress, Antonio Berardi dress, Camilla Skovgaard platform sandals.
I'm off.
