La crème de la crème celebrates the reopening of Schiaparelli in Paris

A few months ago, coinciding with the opening of the "Prada & Schiaparelli: Impossible Conversations" exhibition, it was announced that the legendary house of Schiaparelli was to reopen thanks to the founding of philanthrope and owner of the Tod's Group Diego della Valle, who was accompanied by Farida Khelfa, the new ambassador for Schiaparelli.

The first collection after the closing of the house in 1954 will be shown during private appointments this week in Paris. What is still unclear (to me, anyway) is whether it will be a FW12 couture collection or if it will be part of the SS13 ready-to-wear collections. In any case, I am extremely excited and curious to see how they have reinvented the maison, which will reopen its doors at 21 Place Vendôme in Paris.

Some of the most important faces in fashion came out to celebrate such a unique occasion  – Alexia Niedzielski and Elizabeth von Guttman from Industrie magazine and Ever Manifesto, Suzy Menkes, Anna dello Russo, Roger Vivier's Bruno Frisoni, Carine Roitfeld, Haider Ackermann, LOVE's Katie Grand, and Jefferson Hack among others.

when Suzy met bloggers

Last night Giulia and I attended the launch of 'My Favourite Dress' at the Fashion and Textile Museum in Bermondsey. I have to admit much to my shame that, living in the area, I had never visited the museum. It holds beautiful 60's pieces and numerous vintage issues of Vogue. A rather small place that lacks space but certainly not charm. The presence of Suzy Menkes and Zandra Rhodes, who hosted the event and wrote the forewords for the book, gave the main room an air of excitement that, mixed with the white wine, turned into elation. To our fortune, Giulia and I had the chance of shortly chatting to Suzy, who was ever so sweet and seemed very grateful for our kind words.

morning plenitude

Ham croissants, opera and coffee. Three words that define the perfect start of a day in my world. And if you add good reading, fashion reading even, a morning is just superb. Today was such a morning.
I normally do not share many links or videos on soVIPzone but today I cannot help myself. Men.Style.com has great weekly fashion videos but the last two ones have been especially good. In the first one, Josh Peskowitz (fashion editor of the site) and Tyler Thoreson (executive director) discuss their autumn essentials over a glass of bourbon. In the second, they're joined by Tim Blanks to look back at the NY Fashion Week menswear collections.
Secondly and as part of my Tuesday reading ritual, Suzy Menkes column. Let's not kid ourselves, she can do no wrong when it comes to writing and I would gladly cut my ear off if only that guaranteed me being half as good as her. Anyway, today's article about knits made me especially happy not so much because of the content but because she can write something beautiful about knits. It's like an ode to the jumper.
