First look at the Atelier Versace Jewellery collection

Yesterday, on my post about the Atelier Versace collection I said how excited I was to see the jewellery line that the house was also launching this week. From the shots of them I had seen from the show I knew that they were going to be bold, ornate yet timeless.
And today we can finally take a closer look at a few of the pieces, which seem to be mostly rings as it could be guessed from the show. As you might have expected, gold and rosé gold are the common thread on the collection, after all this is Versace. The golden frames are quite intricate and hold statement stones that look almost like regal pillows and are often decorated with diamonds.
I am still waiting to see some of the emerald and sapphire pieces. Green and blue are two of my favourite colours in jewellery!

What do you think of the Atelier Versace jewellery collection?

a popular ROCK

If there was ever a time when saying “love is in the air” could be uttered without fear of sounding clichéd, this is definitely it. There is something about the sun visiting longer and more often that seems to encourage people to pop the question as if they were asking to pass the salt. Apparently, even celebrities cannot escape this special kind of fever; as rumours and news about Mariah Carey, Scarlett Johansson and Ashley Simpson and their respective adjacent males can not be silenced. But even though every corny part of ourselves would like to fully believe that love and only love is what you need —just like the Beatles sung— I can’t but come to think that engagements have another protagonist, one so precious in such a way that seems to keep the attention from the groom although he is ultimately responsible for it. That is the ring.
However, an engagement ring is not only a ring, it does not matter if it is made of silver or gold or platinum; it is all about the rock. As long as the fiancé-period goes, the ring is the one and only on the spotlight, for it somehow represents the vows to be exchanged. Because of this, because of the importance of the diamond itself I wondered if things were still made traditionally, that is —making a trip to Tiffany’s and going through the rocks section enjoying a glass of Moët— or if the modern times we now live in have managed to come up with new manners in which to find the perfect ring. I was much surprised when I found Abazias.com, a diamond seller on the web.
Women don’t want just any ring, they want something different, unique; this calls for new ways of finding the perfect ring for them. Abazias gives you the chance to design the engagement ring yourself! Choose among different shapes (from the classics, to heart or pear-shaped), colours, carats and clarity ranges… and of course, you can also adjust the price to your needs. It seems the perfect solution for all those men struggling either to find or pay the ring they feel is in order. I don’t know about you but I find this method not only very imaginative and innovative, but quite revolutionary too. In addition, the web also offers a selection of jewellery, watches and, of course, wedding rings so you can log out having the whole package.
Anyway, pals, the time to keep blaming the good ol’ jewellers for their lack of originality and astronomical prices is gone. Even this can’t escape the Internet fever. But they will love us for taking the time to do it. After all, they are a girl’s best friend.

I'm off.
