I have just received the latest issue of British Vogue at home. I was surprised because I usually see a picture or two on The Fashion Spot before it's delivered and I have to say I am feeling a lot happier about their work after looking at this.
Arizona Muse shot by Patrick Demarchelier and styled by Lucinda Chambers covers the February issue in a lot of SS12 Prada. You know I have been babbling about the collection for weeks. The same goes for Arizona, who I am so happy to see on such great covers lately. So, yes, you could say I am very keen on this particular issue of Vogue. And I don't even have any negative feelings against the cover text. If only, I wish Arizona's smile was a little more natural. The shoot inside is nothing to die for but there is quite a cool story after it, "I am a camera" shot by Raymond Meier and styled by Charlotte Pilcher that makes up for it.
I have often complained about Vogue UK's covers and borderline boring content but I feel like if they take baby steps in the line that they seem to be going now 2012 will be an excellent year for them.

What do you think about the February cover?

Arizona Muse covers the November issue of Vogue Paris

I've blogged about before about my love for Arizona Muse. Lately, a few of my favourite covers have featured her. I love how despite of the short hair that could be a limitation, she always looks very different and really brings her personality to the picture.
I must also say that she should stick to editorials. As thrilling as it is to have her so close at a fashion show, I was not very impressed with her runway walk. Her legs are slightly shorter than other models' so she looks odd amongst them.

Just the fact of having Arizona on the cover would be enough for me to love the latest Vogue Paris cover. But in fact, I also really like it because it reminds me of some of the old covers from the magazine from the 80's and 90's. There is a slight vintage air to this picture by Inez and Vinoodh but it feels super fresh and I love how the red lip, the bowtie and the wavy bob really scream French.

I feel really happy about so many of the covers that have come out for October and November so far. I already posted a few days ago about my October favourites and, though we haven't yet seen all of November's I can already saw it's going to be a good month. Check out Coco's Tea Party's post on what the big British titles have done.
You know I have favourites when it comes to magazines but I have no problem admitting that some of the ones I wouldn't normally buy do get it right every so often like it happened with the last Dazed & Confused and AnOther.

Arizona Muse, shot by Alasdair McLellan, covers the latest issue of Self Service and I must admit I am loving it! The styling, by Suzanne Koller as per usual, is simple but it works so well. I love the Céline (?) leopard coat with the slim leather lapels over the black turtle neck jumper. And I love the hair and make up even more. The pin on the side of the hair and the fluffy top have a very childish fun air but then the strong cat-eye make up adds an edge. I probably won't buy the magazine but, boy, isn't this double cover nice to look at!

Arizona Muse, the model with the prophetic name

I had never kept a close eye on Vogue Australia until I came across their September issue cover with Katie Fogarty wearing Louis Vuitton shot in a very straight forward and modern way.

Their October issue triple cover has only got better. Arizona Muse, shot by Kai Z Feng, is the face of all three covers, where they crown her as fashion's new muse –finally someone is giving her some very deserved attention! If I'm not wrong this is her second/third Vogue cover –she's previously been on Vogue Korea and shared cover space with Freja Beha Erichsen on January's Vogue Italia issue. So this is a big deal.
I remember reading that Anna Wintour was a big fan of Arizona and had even mentioned in the past that she reminded her of Linda Evangelista! I am hoping this is the beginning of a lot more big covers and gigs. I guess Anna wouldn't put her on the cover but maybe Emmanuelle will?
