Emma Stone covers the new British Vogue

Emma Stone covers the new British Vogue
This makes number 6, I believe! Emma Stone is seriously taking over the fashion world at the moment and you won't hear me complain. I am also thrilled to see such a good British Vogue cover after the magazine has been missing the mark more often than not for the last few months.
As opposed to the über-glamourous cover of American Vogue, the British title has gone for a more 'real' Emma, who wears MaxMara for the cover, shot by Patrick Demarchelier. I must say I like the change. Emma is so beautiful she looks good anyway but I am particularly enjoying this sexy stare she's given me – move over, Andrew Garfield!
The hot pink font, which I can't stand but British Vogue loves using actually works pretty well in this case. Those blue eyes completely distract you from the text anyway. Though I must say I'm intrigued to find out what that 'LOL (That's late-onset-lesbianism)' piece is about.

I have just received the latest issue of British Vogue at home. I was surprised because I usually see a picture or two on The Fashion Spot before it's delivered and I have to say I am feeling a lot happier about their work after looking at this.
Arizona Muse shot by Patrick Demarchelier and styled by Lucinda Chambers covers the February issue in a lot of SS12 Prada. You know I have been babbling about the collection for weeks. The same goes for Arizona, who I am so happy to see on such great covers lately. So, yes, you could say I am very keen on this particular issue of Vogue. And I don't even have any negative feelings against the cover text. If only, I wish Arizona's smile was a little more natural. The shoot inside is nothing to die for but there is quite a cool story after it, "I am a camera" shot by Raymond Meier and styled by Charlotte Pilcher that makes up for it.
I have often complained about Vogue UK's covers and borderline boring content but I feel like if they take baby steps in the line that they seem to be going now 2012 will be an excellent year for them.

Las nuevas ladies

You all know how fussy I am about magazine covers. I find it hard not only to like who's on the cover but I'm picky about the specific shot used. I am also extremely critical of how much text covers the picture in question. Well, the November issue of Vogue España is what I consider a perfect cover. Caroline Trentini, Iselin Sterio, Anne V, Toni Garrn and Kasla Struss show how it's models and not celebrities that belong in the opening page of Vogue. I love the kind of pyramidal composition and the neutral background with the right amount of black and white text evenly spread on top, bottom and sides. All of it shot by Patrick and Victor Demarchelier and styled by the amazing Belén Antolín, Vogue España's fashion director. I haven't yet bought a copy of the magazine because I am flying back to Spain the weekend after next but I can't wait to have it in my hands.

I know it's a weird thing to think but this issue almost feels like September. As if Vogue España has made of it more than just another volume of the magazine. It would be great if each version of Vogue picked their own month to create their best issue of the year. I'd love to collect random Vogue international editions. Crazy rant over. Enjoy this really fun video of the making of the November issue.
I'm off.

Collage Sunday, 13.06.10

Collage Sunday 13.06.10Summer is here (only some days if you live in London) and it's time to make your swimwear picks. I am tired of the good old triangular bikinis, which is why I have tried to give a bit of a contemporary-meets-vintage feel to today's Collage Sunday. Think 70's with a touch of 20's brought to today. Avoid pink and go for orange and choose interesting shapes and prints for your swimsuits. Happy Sunday!

I'm off.
