Dree Hemingway covers the new Vogue España

Vogue España have done such an extraordinary job with their covers this year. They've managed a hard to achieve balance between celebrities and models while creating fresh imagery and maintaining a signature style.
My absolute favourite was the March issue with Anja Rubik dressed in SS12 Gucci on the cover. It was such a straight-forward idea executed in a beautiful way. The best celebrity cover for me had to be the Katie Holmes one from August. It was vampy and unlike anything we had seen Katie do before.
For their last issue of 2011 the magazine had allowed Bruce Weber to create for them a collector's edition with Dree Hemingway on the cover. The inside story of Dree is simply stunning –click here to see the rest– and if that wasn't enough Weber also allowed Vogue España to publish never seen before pictures from his portfolio. A treat for the eyes.

The December issue will be out in newstands across Spain tomorrow the rest of us will have to wait a little longer to get our hands on a copy.

It seems the May issue of American Vogue is full of fashion jewels. If Reese Witherspoon's beautiful editorial by Peter Lindbergh wasn't enough, Anna also decided to include an even more stunning story by Bruce Weber.
The concept for the shoot is supposed to be Natalia posing with all these Hollywood young talent. To be honest, no one really caught my attention apart from Chloë Morezt, Hailee Steinfeld and Elle Fanning posing with Natalia, in Oscar de la Renta, before bedtime. And that's what makes Bruce Weber so great. He's got the cinematic quality of Annie Leibovitz but he tells his stories in a more documentary glossy way.
I couldn't find a styling credit anywhere. Wouldn't it be great if Anna herself had done it? After all, Natalia is wearing her Balenciaga Pre-Fall dress in one of the pictures.

Shoegasm & Co.

Shoe lovers of the world stamp a big fat admiration mark on your diaries. September 16th (a day before LFW's kick-off) is the day when Selfridges will finally have their Shoe Galleries fully open. The gallery will be the biggest shoe department of the world, holding 4000 shoes on display organised in 6 unique shoe galleries and 11 boutiques belonging to any brand from Havaianas to Chanel and Kurt Geiger. You can see the full brand directory here and even subscribe (here) for updates to stay informed about Selfridges exclusive shoes.
To make this event even more memorable Selfridges commissioned creative director Allannah Weston and Bruce Weber to create the ad campaign following the classic 'girl playing dress-up' dream every woman has had before way before buying their first pair of Louboutins. The result was the quite extraordinary Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte hair-do on Edie Campbell (as Cinderella) that you have most definitely already seen on Vogue.

Even better than the opening of the new floor and the publishing of the new campaign is the fact that Selfridges has cerated a contest for a chance to win a year's supply of shoes from Selfridges. All you have to do is click here and write a few lines about your favourite pair of shoes and, if you want, a picture of the shoes on or off your feet. Piece of cake for a price that will give you sheer joy for 365 days!
I'm off.
