The full Versace x H&M fashion show video!
Last night I was green with envy reading all the tweets from everyone who attended the Versace x H&M fashion show in New York. If we thought last year's event for Lanvin was big I don't know what to call this.
All of fashion's most popular editors, stylists and writers were joined my a huge number of celebrities. From Helena Christensen and Uma Thurman to Blake Lively and Chase Crawford to Linda Evangelista en Chloe Moretz, everyone was there. Dressed in head-to-toe Versace.
I must say this collaboration is not very me but I can see why it would appeal to so many people. It's such a great chance to get iconic pieces from the 90's most of us were either too poor or too young to get back then.
Enjoy the show! And click here to see the video of everyone who attended last night.

look at the BOTTOM

Once again, it's time to talk about menswear on soVIPzone. I have to admit I may have a problem concerning clothing, it is what I think about a worrying percentage of the day. For one part I guess it is normal taking I will some day make my living in this industry, but on the other hand, thinking about trousers, shirts, scarves, hats and shoes for the most part of the day is probably not a good sign. Anyway, a few weeks ago one of my friends brought me to uni the H&M magazine, something I didn't know even existed. Although, truth to be told, it's nothing very special, there was a shoot in it about English style making a comeback for menswear. Ever since I laid eyes on those photos I haven't managed to stop thinking about tailored pants. Well, I submerged for the bizillion time in the Summer collections and found the greatest variety of trousers and, most importantly, bottom-do's.

From left: Perry Ellis Signature, Kris Van Assche, Fendi, Hermès, Costume National.
Tailored pants may sound like such a bore and old-fashioned, but they actually come in all colours and fabrics and have been added details to get adapted to current fashion.

From left: Fendi, Rag & Bone, last two: Paul Smith.
If tailored trousers are in, even more in are cropped pants. Get ready for some wacky sock displaying.

From left: first two: J. Lindeberg and Band of Outsiders.
If you already own the trendiest of trousers for the season, get them updated by rolling up their bottoms, just as you do with your blazers' sleeves.

All Gucci.
Cuffed bottoms are back too! There is nothing more English-like and elegantly classic as cuffed suit pants. Try wearing them just as casual trousers too.

Shorts come tailored too. And, of course, you'll find them cuffed and rolled-up as well. Try getting these effects with the pants you already own.

Something is clear: pants are not to touch your shoes. Get yourself a good assortment of colourful crazy socks and rock the look!

remember, remember the 8th of NOVEMBER

Roberto Cavalli's collection for H&M was, by far, the biggest disappointment out of all the designer collaborations with the Swedish company.
It was 8th of November in London —grey and rainy— and I decided, quite late though, that a visit to H&M was the right thing to do since Cavalli's collection was premiering that day. When I finally got to the other side of Oxford Street from the underground exit I had very mistakenly chosen, the adventure begun. Loads of hysterical women elbowed and look-killed each other to grab the leftovers of the catastrophe the collection was. The men line was even worse, white and black leopard prints on the sides of shirts and prices that were not worth it. Only a few pieces from the womens wear were actually good; my favourite, the mini zebra-print dress.
If this was not enough for my poor stomach to take, today I find in style.com's main page a video from the NYC premiere of the collection in one of H&M's biggest stores. And everything was self-explained. Roberto Cavalli has deteriorated ot the point of looking like a drunken Italian rich pimp with touches of tackiness and a frightening orange-ish tan. Can't even talk about the cigar.

Odes shall be written about this tragedy.

I'm off.
