Glamour Spain recycles the Lana del rey cover TFS, Courtesy of Glamour
You know how fascinated I am with magazines recycling previously published covers and editorials. This time Glamour Spain has reused the Lana del Rey cover from Vogue UK's March issue. It's funny because they've barely even touched the image – only cropped it one or two centimetres. They have also kept the colour scheme Vogue used, although they added some yellow that looks quite tacky.
The story inside is almost identical to the original one, if shorter. I am quite disappointed because when magazines do this 'recycling' I expect them to add a different twist like Vogue Korea or Vogue India have done in the past. Why just reuse it if you're not trying out something new or interesting?
How do you feel about 'editorial recycling'? Do you like Glamour Spain's cover?

The unsung looks from the Met Ball 2012 Getty, OneFabDay.com
Another of my favourites was newcomer Lena Dunham – writer, producer, director and actress in the new HBO series "Girls". She wore a custom Wes Gordon dress in green. I love the choice of pink stilettos that made the look really fun. Bet Lena's best accessory was her date: Hamish Bowles who also looked amazing in a Dolce & Gabbana pink blazer.
I felt a bit bad for Lana del Rey. She wore a stunning silver number from Altuzarra paired with a black cape. I feel like Gwyneth's look from the Oscars really hindered Lana's fashion experience at the Met Ball. Even though this was a totally different and beautiful look it was hard not to remember G in the amazing white Tom Ford...

Lana del Rey covers the new British Vogue! TFS
British Vogue has finally done it!! They have not only delivered a brilliant new cover but they have also managed to be ahead of American Vogue for once. And they have Lana del Rey to thank for it. Lana, shot by Mario Testino, covers the March issue of the magazine in a yellow Louis Vuitton number from the SS12 collection. The magazine has now featured the main two spring collections so it'll be interesting to see what's on the April cover.
The timing of the issue is, of course, perfect as Lana's album has been released this week after months of buzz about it. I haven't had a chance to listen to it in full but its reviews are really good! There has also been a lot of talk about where she comes from and what she did before but, honestly, I couldn't care less. If no one cared about Lady Gaga's why should we care about Lana's past? She is stunning and there is something so intriguing about her eyes. I love everything about her and I hope to be seeing great moments of her on the red carpet. After all, she started off quite well –you might remember her Prabal Gurung moment a few weeks ago or her super chic Antonio Berardi look in her 'Born to Die' video.

You must have been living under a rock not to have heard of Lana del Rey. I don't know where she came from but her first single 'Video Games' literally took the world by storm. I first found out about her when I watched her perform the song at 'Live with Jools Holland' two or three months ago. I was just as much in awe of her voice as I was of her style. There is something about her that makes clothes special, a sort of exquisite vintage feel that looks incredibly current and modern.
The video for her second single 'Born to Die' was released yesterday and I have watched it 4 or 5 times since last night. The photography is unbelivable. I love the symmetry of the Parisian palace where the video was shot and I love Lana's beautiful Antonio Berardi SS11 dress. Berardi is such a great choice for her because it's all about incredible elegant subtle designs. I really really hope we get to see her in one of the long-sleeved embroidered pale pink numbers from the SS12 collection!
You can watch the 'Born to Die' video below. Remember to turn the HD on, it's SO worth it!

I remember I first heard 'Video Games' at the SS12 Christopher Kane show. I also remember wondering whether I had heard the song before because the truth is that Lana de Rey's hit song feels familiar. Perhaps that's where its success lies.
It's funny how people like her are described as an 'Internet sensation'. Justin Bieber falls into that category too...
The reason why I wanted to post about this is because, for one, it's an excuse to stick the video of her performance at Jools Holland on Know Wear. And, secondly, because I absolutely love the Cruise 2012 collection from Prabal Gurung. I already blogged about it when Sarah Jessica Parker wore the v-neck version during her press tour back in September. I am just amazed on how a print that could be a bit dated becomes so modern in those colours and how this dress suits so many different women. I even like Lana's white wedges (remember I don't like white shoes?). They would be horrible on their own but they give the dress a slightly more casual note.
Are you obsessed with 'Video Games' too?
