Win a Birkin bag!

When the lovely people from GO City Girl emailed me this morning telling me about their competition to win a Birkin bag I couldn't think of anything better for today's post. It is practically every woman's dream to own a Birkin. God, I would love to have one even if it was just to keep my belts at home! Well, they are giving you the chance to win one as long as you enter the competition before April 18th. All you have to do is register on the website.
Please, do not miss the promotional video below. It is genius and inspired and absolutely hilarious. I have watched it about ten times because it's just brilliant.
Have a nice Friday!

Collage Sunday, 20.11.10

CollageSundayKimKardashianI knew from they moment I chose her as the centre of my Collage Sunday that Kim Kardashian might not get the warmest welcome from fashion lovers, which would be unfair. I've never known much about her apart from the fact that she is sort of related to Brody Jenner but over the last few months she's been catching my attention a lot. I really like the drama in everything she wears and how she doesn't hold back with the accessorising —fur, big hats, thigh-high boots, Birkins... I also like the fact that she's not really trendy, which strikes as a surprise. She does wear season pieces but her personality shines through every time. Plus, she is incredibly clever about the way she choses her clothes to nicely show off her body in a sexy but not obvious way (please note her remarkable derrière). Like it or not, the woman can dress!   —Happy Sunday!

Eva tries to pull a Vic

If the film-related events at Cannes weren't enough to provide plenty of celebrity style, some decide to go for shopping sprees in the city as well. Eva Longoria paid a visit to the Hermès store (because, you know, there is no Hermès in LA) in a horrid body-con Hervé Léger, blue Birkin, YSL Tribtoo's and degrade sunnies. If the references to Posh spice weren't enough, she Longoria added the miserable expression, which makes the whole moment absolutely hilarious.

a 'faux pas' and a 'oui plus'

Many things have been said about Gaga's wacky outfits, to most of which I've answered that whatever one's personal taste she deserves some credit for being daring and experimental. Now, there are certain things one just doesn't do, and writing on a Birkin bag is one of them. Lady Gaga was spotted touching down on Narita, Japan sporting the white Hermès staple with Japanese writing on it (translation, please). She's lost so many points for that. Contrary to Gaga, life and fashion legend Kate Moss was seen in Paris in one of her most awesome recent looks —a kind of feathered fur gillet over a white blazer together with zip-bottom skinny jeans and a pair of black stilettos very in the line of Prada FW10. Nous aimons.

she-bag

Some are old and some new. Some a sigh and some a snort. But they all took their name from someone special to their creators. The Birkin and the Kelly are veterans and the ladies they took their names from marked a style in their era. The Ricky (Ralph Lauren's wife) and the Gisele (Bündchen) have been in the market for a few years already and they keep getting facelifts trying to find their place in fashion history. And the Hayden (Panettiere) and the Alexa (Chung) are the latest additions to the club —to me the first doesn't stand a chance and the second is stunning. Which one is your favourite?
