ZaraAPRIL11
I love Zara's idea of releasing a monthly lookbook. I have been aware of them for a while but for quite a few months I've completely forgotten to see what they had to offer. I think it's a brilliant idea because not only it makes people excited about new items every 30 days (and hence, makes them buy) but it's also a nice way of helping you plan what you need/want to buy to build a nicely balanced wardrobe of classic and trendy pieces. The April looks are very clean and completely into the summer mood. There is a lot of very nice slightly toned-down bold colours like tangerine, yellow and what I like to call Jil Sander green in classic shapes. I absolutely love the loose tanks with the little pocket, the cropped camouflage parka and the Persian-printed palazzo pants. And how good is the styling? I can't wait for the next instalment.

TITLE2
CS-CamouflageFirst of all, welcome to Know Wear! I am so excited that it's actually going live today. I have worked on it for many hours and I can't wait to hear what you all have to say about it. Bear with us to complete the transition from soVIPzone. The above menus will be up and running in the over the next week and I have done my best to adapt the old posts to the new layout but I haven't got around to doing all of them yet so don't get grossed out if some look awful.
Now, back to the collage. I remember posting about camouflage last year when Rag & Bone showed a couple of pieces on their FW10 collection. I didn't like it at all then and I still quite dislike what they did with the tricky print now. The reason why I changed my opinion about camouflage altogether is Viviana Volpicella. Her fur-collared jacket worn with purple trousers and Prada's striped shoes really won me over. The fact is that if visionary designers like Miuccia and Junya Watanabe had also shown some pieces that season it was a trend long overdue. It's still hard to pull it off and find the right combination of shapes and colours. I will start by giving it a try with some ASOS shorts this summer, you?

not okay

I feel the need to beg to stop it before it's too late. I love the fact that military inspiration is ever-present on FW collections year after year because it means I can always find khaki jackets with pleats on the back and golden buttons. Rag & Bone and Wayne have taken it too far but. It's the third day of NYFW and I already have spotted a worrying amount (more than once) of camouflage prints so far. I am hoping it will be an isolated issue only happening in New York but I can't help but wonder if I'll be wrong. I have never been a fan of the print, in any colour size or shape and I really need reassurance. Are you for or against camouflage?
