Shoe Porn Friday- Roger Vivier and then some

I know these Friday posts are meant to be only about a pair of shoes that we love but I simply couldn't resist... The Roger Vivier SS13 collection was presented in Paris on Monday and, as usual, there are almost as many show-stoppers as there are pieces in the collection.
My favourites continue to be from the Prismick line – they were created by Bruno Frisoni only two seasons ago but they already feel like RV staples. I was then in love with the yellow and white model that we recently saw Emma Stone rocking at NYFW. Now the brand has reinvedted them in different shades of pink in suede for the shoe and snakeskin for the bag. I am thinking Carey Mulligan at 'The Great Gatsby' premiere. Perfect, no?
For SS13 has also introduced a few new pieces. The smoking slippers, which come in quite a few different models (I love these sequinned ones!), and the Metro Square bag, that will join the ranks of the RV classics before long. Mark my words.

Slippers are the shoe of the season. And of next season too. I have a feeling they will become a wardrobe staple right after that. Every single shop and quite a few designers have created they're different takes but my favourite ones are these Miu Miu ones.

As opposed to everyone who likes to wear them in black, I like the bold choice from Miu Miu and how the 'regal' embroidery becomes more of a play on texture. They're perfect for muted looks and would look great in any scenario you can think of.
They are part of the brand's FW12 collection and are available at all their stores and online at MiuMiu.com

MaxMara Atelier FW12: Luxury to last forever
Style.com
It was clear to me only with look #1 from the first ever MaxMara Atelier collection that this was a collection for the elite. Or for those who believe in quality investments and not in ephemeral trends that, while they may make a statement, don't stay around for too long.
What I love the most about the line is that it seems really forward-thinking to me. A lot of designers and fashion houses are launching custom made services for clients who enjoy exclusivity and quality but this MaxMara line seems to want to create something extremely luxurious in an off-the-rack way that I find to be genius.
And the clothes are amazing. My favourite touch are the smoking slippers, which are quickly going from being a trend to becoming a wardrobe staple everyone has. It was a very Audrey Hepburn collection of understated elegance but had also very modern touches such as nylon panels or the adjustable hemlines on the trousers. The highlight, I guess, were the woollen coats of very classic cuts in either straight-line or A-line shapes.

So I guess the success of the brand now depends mainly on the retail price. Would you wear MaxMara Atelier?
