That yellow pant... is back!
Theyellowpant
TFS
I think it was around this time in 2008 when street style blogs were only starting out that I first found this picture of Giovanna Battaglia (far right) wearing a fabulous pair of cropped yellow trousers to Paris Fashion Week. It was one of the first looks from an editor that really got me interested. Back then I wasn't even sure of who Giovanna was. Shame on me.
A year or so later, when Viviana Volpicella started to be on The Sartorialist and Garance Doré I enjoyed the same pair of trousers on my other favourite, Viviana, who wore them as more of a traditional piece of tailoring.

It was Giovanna who took them out of her wardrobe again this season, also to walk Les Tuileries in Paris. And I love how she updated the look with a simple shirt with details on the collar to keep it interesting and much more feminine shoes.
My only question now is still, who are they by? I suspect Dries Van Noten or Etro but I would really like to know because I love the fit and the texture. UPDATE: The pant is Marni. Thank you Viviana!

London Fashion Week- Spot Iñaki on Street Style Photos
IñakibyTommyTon

You can't imagine how so not fashion appropriate was the moment when I found my picture by Tommy Ton on the American GQ website. I was ill in bed bbm-ing some friends and just browsing through GQ's street style pictures from London Fashion Week. I always have some hope that I might find one of myself.
It goes without saying that this made me feel instantly better. I don't know how Tommy Ton does it but he makes anyone look pretty good.

In the same group of photos from London I found another of someone else with me on the background and I thought it would be funny to share the few pictures of me at fashion week that I randomly came across. I don't get snapped but, boy, I am in the background a lot! Haha.
First is me entering Somerset House on menswear day, also by Tommy Ton. In the second one I am patiently waiting for the Beyoncé show to start (do you know who that woman is?). In the third I am chatting to some people before we taking a seat for the Christopher Kane show, and the last one, also by Tommy Ton, is at the exit from the show.

Best dressed of the weekend- V&A a Milano

With the complete overload of street style it's hard not only to keep up with images and looks but also to even get excited about any of them.
New York and London are not that great when it comes to fashion insiders getting dressed to attend the shows but with Milan we start getting down to business as a sort of preparation that preps us for Paris.

I have blogged about Viviana Volpicella and Aurora Sansone quite a few times before. They are my absolute favourites when it comes to street style and they never ever disappoint. Milan is their territory and they really know how to own it.
I guess the best thing about Milan in September is that it is still warm there so editors and stylists can still have some fun with sandals and colourful short numbers. They will have time to impress us with their winter looks in February.

The lovely Elena Braghieri from Catching Instants is always there to capture V&A's best Milan looks, which she shares in her blog. It's thanks to her mostly that I get to enjoy street style even these days.

Collage Sunday, 19.12.10

CollageSunday-StylevationArmyI've been talking about keeping warm and looking chic over the last few weeks and I'm hoping that, by now, you've all managed to find a way around it. But just in case you haven't here is some more proof that it actually is possible. I met Camilla, Caroline and Marthe at LCF, where I quickly realised how present style is in their everyday lives. They recebtly started a blog —Stylevation Army— where they share everything from inspiration and photo diaries to their personal style and their press day picks. I'm a fan not only because we're friends but because I like their genuine point of view, their eclectic style and their bubbly personalities. After all, they're Scandinavians. What else could we expect?   —Happy Sunday!

Don't miss their blog and remember to add them on twitter: Caroline, Marthe, Camilla.
I'm off.

it's the way WE roll

It is time to give some credit to those lads out there making an effort and spending some extra minutes in front of the mirror to prove to the incredulous that the male kind can look as dazzling as anyone else, or even more. The trick is to add a final touch of scruffiness to every ensemble so your manhood does not seem jeopardized by your caring for your image.Model Jamie Dornan and actor Josh Harnett are very aware of the tips above. Simply take out some of the pieces of clothing that are classically worn with a suit —be it the tie, the blazer or the trousers— and substitute them with something more casual. It might look like you just grabbed the first thing at hand but you will look very stylish.

When in winter and dubious stick to dark plain colours. Even though this is pretty basic it works almost every time. A good combination of black, grey and the colours of the leaves over the grass in the park never goes wrong. However, if you feel you are ready for more you may play with texture, cuts and some simple accessorizing —just like the gentlemen above.

No matter what your mates say, there is not a set dress code for any time of the day. Black is very recommendable, nonetheless. Never discard jeans beforehand as they might just be what you need. Mix them up with your really dressed-up blazer and shoes and you got the look. Your other option (only for the über-stylish) is to do it à la Ghesquière —it works every time.

If your date of birth is more than 30 years from 2008 jeans probably do not do it for you. Instead, be creative with the top of your outfit. Blazer are not always compulsory and if you wear one it does not necessarily have to be just over a shirt. Try cardigans and v-neck jumpers as both addition and substitute.

Who said it was boring to be a man? The men above are a clear example of how clean and simple go well with creative and fashionable. Play with layers and experiment with other hues from within the same palettes.

Classics such as the blazer and the tie or the cravat are very much a current fashion. If they seem to dressed-up for daily situations simply dress them down with sneakers and washed denim.
