Viviana Volpicella styles Bianca Balti for the new Vogue Brazil

Viviana Volpicella styles Bianca Balti for the new Vogue Brazil
Vogue Brazil Facebook Page
I had been wondering for a while why Viviana Volpicella tweeted so much about Brazil in the last couple of months. And even though I had no idea what she was doing I knew I should be excited because something good was coming up. And I was right.
Bianca Balti covers the August issue of Vogue Brazil totally styled by Viviana and shot by Fernando Lombardi. And I love everything about this cover. I love how chic and clean it it – you know I hate copy clutter. The styling is superb and great for an August issue and obviously the hair and makeup are spotless, but when a woman looks like Bianca Balti you don't really need a lot of work in that department. I just love the mix of the clear Italian touches of Viviana with this super latin energy that reads Brazil so clearly.
I hope this isn't a one of and that Viviana is continuing to do their covers because with her help Vogue Brazil can really become one of the big Vogue titles.

A few months ago during the FW12 womenswear shows in Milan you must have seen quite a few pictures on Twitter of editors and buyers cycling around the city in a stylish leopard-print bike.
The bicycle in question is by Dolce & Gabbana – who else? – and will be launched during the famous Salone del Mobile, which takes place 17th to 22nd of April in Milan.
I'm sure we will be seeing a cool new ad campaign for the bike. I would love to have someone like Beyoncé or Rihanna riding around Milan or Paris in an all-leopard Dolce & Gabbana outfit as the campaign, how cool would it be?
In the meantime, I am happy with these pictures shot by the talented Elena Braghieri from Catching Instants (via Vogue.de). They were taken in February during the shows – Tamu McPherson, Elisa Nalin and Ada Kokosar take to the bikes in Milano! My favourite, of course, is the ever so stylish Viviana Volpicella in her chic and modern green look showing everyone how it's done, even on wheels.

The bike will be available at selected Dolce & Gabbana stores and will cost around €1600 (about £1300).

Best Dressed of the Weekend- No one beats Viviana

Best Dressed of the Weekend: No one beats Viviana
JustJared, LeeOliveira.com
Since the Oscars are tonight and it is only obvious that I will be devoting my Monday posts to the best gowns that walk the red carpet in LA I thought I'd move the Best Dressed of the Week to today. It wouldn't be fair not to talk about these four looks.
My absolute favourite this week is Viviana Volpicella. Every Milan Fashion Week I know that she will not disappoint. It looks like she is already thinking of spring so Viviana went for a head-to-toe MSGM floral ensemble of mismatched prints masterly combined and accessorised with black pumps and one of Sara Battaglia's signature bags.
The Spirit Awards that took place last night also delivered a few jewels that have only got me more excited about tonight. Elizabeth Olsen killed it once more in an exquisite Antonio Berardi number – a combo that makes me very happy! Shailene Woodley also went for a British designer with a Christopher Kane bejewelled top. The genius in this was letting the top be the protagonist. And I loved the golden-tip Loubs, a great touch. Zoe Saldana went for a more relaxed look in a Balmain mini-dress that she made look completely effortless and über-sexy. And I loved the neutral shoes with a killer platform.

That yellow pant... is back!

I think it was around this time in 2008 when street style blogs were only starting out that I first found this picture of Giovanna Battaglia (far right) wearing a fabulous pair of cropped yellow trousers to Paris Fashion Week. It was one of the first looks from an editor that really got me interested. Back then I wasn't even sure of who Giovanna was. Shame on me.
A year or so later, when Viviana Volpicella started to be on The Sartorialist and Garance Doré I enjoyed the same pair of trousers on my other favourite, Viviana, who wore them as more of a traditional piece of tailoring.

It was Giovanna who took them out of her wardrobe again this season, also to walk Les Tuileries in Paris. And I love how she updated the look with a simple shirt with details on the collar to keep it interesting and much more feminine shoes.
My only question now is still, who are they by? I suspect Dries Van Noten or Etro but I would really like to know because I love the fit and the texture. UPDATE: The pant is Marni. Thank you Viviana!

Best dressed of the weekend- V&A a Milano

With the complete overload of street style it's hard not only to keep up with images and looks but also to even get excited about any of them.
New York and London are not that great when it comes to fashion insiders getting dressed to attend the shows but with Milan we start getting down to business as a sort of preparation that preps us for Paris.

I have blogged about Viviana Volpicella and Aurora Sansone quite a few times before. They are my absolute favourites when it comes to street style and they never ever disappoint. Milan is their territory and they really know how to own it.
I guess the best thing about Milan in September is that it is still warm there so editors and stylists can still have some fun with sandals and colourful short numbers. They will have time to impress us with their winter looks in February.

The lovely Elena Braghieri from Catching Instants is always there to capture V&A's best Milan looks, which she shares in her blog. It's thanks to her mostly that I get to enjoy street style even these days.

Italian musketeers

One of the best things about having an on-going fashion week is the amount of street style pictures we get to enjoy in addition to the catwalk shows. During this past Milan Uomo Fashion Week I have enjoyed not only the looks of the most stylish men in the industry but also the incredible looks of my three favourite people in fashion: Anna dello Russo, Viviana Volpicella and Aurora Sansone. There is no one I wish to meet more than them. I can't think of anybody more fun to spend fashion week with than Anna dello Russo with Viviana's smile to make every minute special and Aurora's suave coolness to park conversation. If only they came to London Fashion Week... (we could have a moment like the one I photoshopped in the first image).

Collage Sunday, 07.11.10

CollageSunday-VivVolpicellaI have realised how our Collage Sunday has gradually and organically become more about fashion individuals than trends. Something that is quite significative of where some of the trends are forged these days. Today's collage centres around a lady I've loved from the very first moment I laid eyes on her. Viviana Volpicella  is one of the Assistant Fashion Editors of Vogue Nippon and, hence, part of AdR's fantastic team. Her olive skin, brown hair and radiant smile are the perfect accessories to any Marni, Prada or Zara item. Pair these up with her signature degradé Way Farers, her Italian know-how and her innate effortlessness and you'll get the perfect recipe for a natural personal style. My only hope is to ever be able to say this in person. Next LFW maybe? —Buona domenica!

I'm off.
