Prada and its younger sister Miu Miu really waste no time. For every fashion week or art fair there is a big an memorable event from either of the houses. This time Miu Miu held a party during New York fashion week to present their new short film from their "Woman's Tales" series – "The Woman Dress". You can watch the short film here and see more pictures from the event here.
Alongside the event the brand has also launched their new Culte Sunglasses collection. I love the soft geometric shape of the shades, which are made by one single piece of metal carefully bended, and I can easily see them becoming a new hit – their older sisters were all the rage – and Leighton Meester already loves them!
The sunglasses will be available at MiuMiu.com and on selected Miu Miu stores worldwide from the end of May.

Aren't you dying to get a pair?

Prada presents their ‘illusion sunglasses’ at Fashion’s Night Out Tokyo

Fashion houses really went all out for Fashion's Night Out last Saturday. I posted earlier today about Roger's Vivier pop up shop at the Japanese capital and now it's all about Prada.
Their big event for FNOT consisted of a big fashion display created by non other than Anna dello Russo, if you hadn't guessed. This incredible set up served as the backdrop for Prada's FW11 'illusion sunglasses' collection, which was presented then.
The sunglasses are available in a great variety of colours and look super futuristic, not to mention they're a brilliant fashionable alternative for skiing sunglasses. I can totally imagine Victoria Beckham wearing these with her Chanel outfit at St Moritz in December, can't you?

Prada has also released a promotional video to go with their new 'illusion sunglasses'. The lovely Prada people have been kind enough to share that as well. Click here to see it on our Know Wear Vimeo page.

Big & Neutral Frames- Hot or Not

I loved Anne Hathaway's look for her John Stewart appearance. The white Balmain Resort 2012, Elvis t-shirt and black flared trousers were rock and roll and very chic –and had Rachel Zoe's name all over them.
What I liked most about the look were the sunglasses –vintage looking, with a big frame in white not unlike the famous Giles' ones. I have always been very much against white shoes, bags and glasses frames. They're very tricky to make and even harder to pull off. But Anne looked so great in them!

I started to think whether the really big shape could be what makes the shades so chic. Sunglasses have been getting bigger and bigger but in a different way than a few years ago. Lenses are staying the same size and it's the frames that are getting super chunky, which makes their colour and design more noticeable.
This is a trend that I am a lot more in favour. The Olsens have been sporting sunnies like these for years and, of course, launched a few models of the like for the upcoming season of The Row.
I found that Linda Farrow has the best choices, especially in their designer collaboration lines –Peter Pilotto, The Row, Eley Kishimoto, Dries Van Noten.

Are you a fan?

DiorsunglassesI've never been too keen on sunglasses trends, especially that big wave of huge round shapes that covered half of the face. I'm more of a classic man when it comes to shades and so I mostly stick to my Way Farers and Aviators. There are always exceptions like Tom Ford and Chanel sunglasses, which often reinvent old models in very chic ways. And that is what Dior has done for their line of sunglasses for the summer called "Les Marquises". I really like the 'Diormohotani' models, which are Dior's take on the Way Farer, but I absolutely love the 'Diormotuoni'. They are so incredibly pin-up 50's and I love how they have played with different colours of mother of pearl for the frames and a different one on the legs. I also love the fact that the different colour combinations are all very Dior and go in line with the summer collection's Hawaiian setting while still being pieces you can wear through the season. If, to that, you add how stunning Karlie Kloss looks in them, it's just too hard to resist.

shades of green

One of my favourite things to do when fashion week ends is to look back at all the collections again but paying special attention to the accessories and details in them. However, there are some that already caught my eye during the first round. This is one of those times. I am not sure about how YSL's transparent frames and green glasses will look on me but I will at least give them a try. Which items are you already coveting?
