Cara Delevingne is the face of the new Burberry Body Tender fragrance
CaraBurbs1

After launching Burberry Body in September of 2011 now Burberry announces the release of their latest fragrance – Burberry Body Tender. Cara Delevingne has been unveiled as the face of the new fragrance, which should come as no surprise as she's not only the model of the moment but also because she's been such a great Burberry ambassador over the last few years.
Cara already appeared in the SS12 campaign alongside Eddie Redmayne and has worn the brand to numerous public events, especially to huge ones such as the Met Ball last year or the British Fashion Awards in late 2012.
According to the brand "Burberry Body Tender combines the relaxed, playful attitude of the Burberry girl with the energy of the brand’s London hometown. Understated and feminine, the British scent is a light spirited expression of the iconic Burberry Body fragrance. Sparkling scent brings together a fresh surge of lemon, dewy English rose and white jasmine against a warm, effortlessly feminine soft base".
The campaign, which includes a beautiful video shot also on the river Thames, was shot by Mario Testino, to whom Christopher Bailey is always faithful because he captures the essence of Burberry so well. The video commercial is accompanied by Misty Miller's cover of 'Happy Together', which you will remember because it opened the latest Burberry FW13 show in London. It's available to download from iTunes here and you can listen to it anytime on Spotify here.

Fragrance campaign face-off- Kristen Stewart vs. Blake Lively

Fragrance campaign face-off: Kristen Stewart vs. Blake Lively
TFS
These two super anticipated campaigns are now out. I must say that I usually am never particularly keen on fragrance campaigns because there's always too much going on, they're too mainstream. However, this doesn't go for the Florabotanica (great name too) and Gucci Première campaigns.
I have thought from day one that Kristen Stewart is the most brilliant match for Balenciaga, by Steven Meisel. She looks cool and relaxed in Balenciaga clothes and gives everything her own spin. And I love her in the new perfume ad because not only the artwork is beautiful – they should make wallpaper – but I'm happy to see Kristen wearing the same Balenciaga SS08 dress from my favourite collection. It is, incidentally, the same look Jennifer Connelly wore 4 years ago on the campaign for the house.
Blake Lively has been making such perfect fashion choices over the last few days that I feel like it's the perfect time for this to come out. She always looks better when she channels a bit of old Hollywood glamour from the 50's – wavy blond hair, beauty spot, long-sleeved dresses with open back. All notes Gucci and Mert & Marcus struck for their Première ad. It's incredibly beautiful because it's simple.

‘Burberry Body’ launches today!
BurberryBodypremiere
Courtesy of Burberry
After weeks of much anticipation and an extensive digital campaign Burberry finally launches today 'Burberry Body'. The TV campaign, just as the print ads, was shot by Mario Testino under the direction of Christopher Bailey. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is the protagonist of all of this and she looks absolutely stunning.

Whether you requested your sample via facebook or not now you can actually head down to your shop to buy a bottle of 'Burberry Body' –I love the fact that the design had that air ox exclusivity, like you don't want to waste a drop. And I must say I am quite curious to smell it myself.

But as well as the campaign Burberry is launching Burberry Nude –the first ever ready-to-wear collection to accompany a fragrance. The pieces are, of course, Burberry staples. Cara Delevigne, another brand favourite, models the amazing trench coats. I can't decide whether I love more the lace one you could wear as a dress or the fur one, which looks so soft I just want to hug Cara.

Are you dying to try Burberry Body?

Behind the scenes of ‘Burberry Body’

Before the TV ad campaign for Burberry Body is released next week, here is a little video preview of the behind the scenes shoot with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the face of the fragrance.
If you haven't joined in to the craze yet, also head over to Burberry's Facebook page where you can request your exclusive sample of Burberry Body before it's released for sale in about a week -6 days, to be more specific.

I can't wait to see the final tv add next week!

The Making of Prada Candy
This week Prada launched the commercial campaign for their new fragrance –Prada Candy. The tv commercial is rather edgy in Prada's very particular way.
The whole concept for the video was done around the Apache dance, which they explain on the "making of" video to the right. I have watched it a couple of times because you can hardly imagine it's an ad for a perfume campaign.
Apaches must have not known the difference between dancing and fighting really well because watching the video you can't tell whether they're paying homage to The Matrix or Dirty Dancing. I love the bit when the girl, Léa Seydoux, is thrown against the wall (that reminded me of Twilight) and the detail of the pink underwear is cute in a slightly odd way.
I hardly making any sense trying to explain all of this so it's probably better if you watch the video –you can see it here– after watching the making of it.

Lovestruck by Leighton
It was back in November when the a few pictures of Leighton Meester in a stunning Vera Wang gown surfaced online and I commented on them. I was then struck by how beautiful she looked and how inappropriately yet interesting it was for her to be dressed like that on the stairway of a fire exit.
It seems like the editing of the video has taken forever but the result is truly stunning as well. I probably haven't liked a perfume commercial this much since Kiera's original Coco Mademoiselle advert. Leighton rocks the dress and steals the show leaving you wonder what all the fuss was about.
What do you think?

The Apocalypse is near- Eau de Bieber
biebersmell

'Someday' by Justin Bieber. Is that as in 'someday you'll have me but in the meantime you can smell me'? I rather smell Lady Gaga's sweat, I'd even prefer a scent of this 'Bieber'. Who would trust a 17-year-old to tell them how to smell?
The bottle might look familiar to you. That's because it looks like the retarded chubby ugly sister of Marc Jacobs' Lola perfume.
If the putrid plastic flower filled with Bieber scent wasn't enough there had to be a commercial. It's sort of half-way between Peter Pan and Romeo and Juliet in a mirror maze.

TITLE7
It's on rare occasions that fashion films, that new genre of movie-making, which now rolls off our tongues actually produces good videos. Dior's are probably the worst films I have seen in my life and most of the rest of them out there (forgive me for not even trying to remember) are, quite frankly, a bit of a joke. The closest thing to quality we have seen in this field would probably be Karl Lagerfeld's "Remember Now", which succeeded more due to his excellent aesthetic rather than to his story-telling skills. His latest work, however, is more in the line with his cringe-ful commercial for Hogan. Keira Knightley stars in the new Coco Mademoiselle ad and, even though she looks stunning and there is something so likeable about creamy Chanel suede, the film makes absolutely no sense. I can't possibly imagine how anyone will be able to edit it into a TV version but I am positive 30 seconds of it will be more pleasant than the over 3 of the original version. Such a shame, Keira's first advert was so perfect!

I'm off.

Armani loves Megan Fox

ArmaniCodemeganfoxMegan Fox has had a quick rise in the world of fashion. It probably had a lot to do with the fact that she has that wild beauty kind of thing that also made Angelina a world icon (and even very similar back tattoos). But Fox's biggest fan seems to be Giorgio Armani. He first chose her as the face of Armani underwear, a role that she's now retaking for the new season alongside Rafa Nadal, but she has also become the face of Armani Jeans and now of Armani Code Sport, the latest fragrance from the Italian emperor. The lovely people from Armani have sent me some exclusive shots of the new campaign, launching this month, and I daresay I like Fox in these more than I liked Anja Rubik. She looks so polished but that look and the tattoos kind of give her an edge that I really love. The pictures also feel very contemporary and I somehow see an Asian twang in them, which is, of course, molto Armani.
What do you think of the campaign? Do you see Megan fox as a style icon?
I'm off.

The Scent of Mellon

Jimmy Choo is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year and they are doing so by launching their first ever fragrance: Jimmy Choo Eau de Parfum. To create it, the brand's creative director Tamara Mellon wanted to combine ingredients that conveyed an idea of strength and beauty —namely "fruity Chypre with warm, rich, woody depths". Green top notes for an initial refreshment and an aura of Tiger Orchid. All of it with a "base of sweet Toffee meld with Indonesian Patchouli to leave a subtle, sensual memory on the skin." By the sound of it, Mellon has manages to create a visual image of the woman she has created her famous shoes for years. However attractive this may sound, it's clear that you'll have to head down to your closest stockist to see (or smell) for yourself if it lives up to the hype.

For the fragrance's campaign Mellon has used her own face photographed by the famous duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. I really like this particular ad. I am not the biggest fan of Jimmy Choo's accessory campaign but this works. There is something subtle and beautiful but strong about this image, which somehow makes me think of Christy Turlington. And I know it sounds sill but I like the fact that the dress matches the box.
I am also quite keen on the bottle. Not so much for its appearance but because of the thought behind it. Every bottle has been made from Venice's famous Murano glass but with very modern lines. Mellon wanted to convey the idea of tradition and contemporary design brought together.

Smell like Anna

After months of reading Anna dello Russo's tweets and blogposts we can finally see what the advert for her new perfume is like. I am glad it turned out to be the way it has because it doesn't take itself too seriously. It kind of laughs at the really intense and cheesy usual perfume adverts by having those faded bits bewteen scenes. I love the fact that it's filmed at her apartment in Milan (the closet, not the house) and how she dances around her famous shoe shelves and the Gareth Pugh headpiece she wore for the Vogue Paris masquerade. What do you think of it?
I'm off.

c'est bleu, c'est Chanel

Every few months a couple of new perfumes and colognes are launched by the big names of fashion. They usually entail a simple TV ad with as much glamour and few clothes as possible and a double spread of a picture of the same nature on every Vogue, Harper's and Elle. Unless the brand launching is Chanel, that is.
For their latest cologne for men, 'Bleu de Chanel', the French house hired Martin Scorsese to shoot Gaspard Ulliel in a minute-long commercial that makes little sense, looks absolutely stunning and makes the cologne beyond desirable (and it does smell really good, I must say).
The photography in the advert is spotless. Everything from the scenery to Gaspard's and the girls' eyes is tinged with le bleu which makes you want to be "unexpected". Although how unexpected can you be if you have to plan to buy the fragrance and plan to wear it... In any case, it is a job well done and Chanel's c'est quoi ça? answer to the question what about recession?

PS. You might remember Gaspard's (memorable) face from 'Paris, je t'aime' and his numerous appearances at Chanel shows.
