If buying a Mercedez-Benz car wasn't already tempting enough for for who can now the luxury brand has teamed up with Mario Testino to shoot their latest commercial. Joan Smalls – sporting a fierce mohawk and leather catsuit – stars in the ad for the new CLS Shooting Break.
This new commercial is the latest in a series of fashion-forward campaigns for Mercedes changing, like fashion, every season. Some of the previous projects include Julia Stegner by Nick Knight, Milla Jovovich Miles Aldridge, Karolina Kurkova by Craig McDean and David James, Lara Stone by Alex Prager, and last season's Jessica Stam by Terry Richardson Terry Richardson. |

I would have usually posted about this on Fashion, Frankly but seeing as Ed Westwick is appreciated for men and women I thought no one would complain if I posted them here.
Ed is the new face of the Philipp Plein FW12 campaign, shot by Terry Richardson. I'm glad to see him working with a cool rock'n'roll brand. We see enough of him in dapper suits on Gossip Girl. It's refreshing seeing him in jeans, t-shirts and lether jackets – especial mention to the croc leather jacket, I love it! I am also quite excited because this season I'm going to my first Philipp Plein show in Milan next weekend. I know his shows are really fun and full of energy. And, who knows, maybe Ed will even be there and we'll get to talking and become best mates and jet around the world in designer suits charming ladies. Never say never (!). In the meantime, check out the full campaign on the right, and take a look at the behind the scenes from the shoot on the video below and these pictures. |

One of the things I've always liked about Prada is that Miuccia's collections are never the ones that strike you as genius straight away. You need some time to digest what you've seen and come to your conclusion. I love this concept of video lookbook they have created for F/W11 because they've put together the collection that we've all seen and Miuccia's inspiration for it –home, interiors, and intimate perceptual spaces. The Prada videos are also among my favourites because, unlike other fashion films, they don't take themselves too seriously and they're just about an aesthetic. You can see the images of the campaign on our Facebook page. |
This week Prada launched the commercial campaign for their new fragrance –Prada Candy. The tv commercial is rather edgy in Prada's very particular way. The whole concept for the video was done around the Apache dance, which they explain on the "making of" video to the right. I have watched it a couple of times because you can hardly imagine it's an ad for a perfume campaign. Apaches must have not known the difference between dancing and fighting really well because watching the video you can't tell whether they're paying homage to The Matrix or Dirty Dancing. I love the bit when the girl, Léa Seydoux, is thrown against the wall (that reminded me of Twilight) and the detail of the pink underwear is cute in a slightly odd way. I hardly making any sense trying to explain all of this so it's probably better if you watch the video –you can see it here– after watching the making of it. Thoughts? |
Today Burberry launched their new fragrance 'Burberry body'. It is no surprise that they've chosen Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, a Burberry regular who's recently been a lot in the spotlight for her red carpet style (see here) to be its image. I love the fact that she's wearing nothing but a rose gold satin trench coat. It's a very sensual image but it's done in such an elegant way! The bottle design and fragrance itself will be revealed soon but in the meantime we can enjoy this stunning Mario Testino picture and the 5-second video part of the multimedia campaign. |
