Cara Delevingne is the face of the new Burberry Body Tender fragrance
CaraBurbs1

After launching Burberry Body in September of 2011 now Burberry announces the release of their latest fragrance – Burberry Body Tender. Cara Delevingne has been unveiled as the face of the new fragrance, which should come as no surprise as she's not only the model of the moment but also because she's been such a great Burberry ambassador over the last few years.
Cara already appeared in the SS12 campaign alongside Eddie Redmayne and has worn the brand to numerous public events, especially to huge ones such as the Met Ball last year or the British Fashion Awards in late 2012.
According to the brand "Burberry Body Tender combines the relaxed, playful attitude of the Burberry girl with the energy of the brand’s London hometown. Understated and feminine, the British scent is a light spirited expression of the iconic Burberry Body fragrance. Sparkling scent brings together a fresh surge of lemon, dewy English rose and white jasmine against a warm, effortlessly feminine soft base".
The campaign, which includes a beautiful video shot also on the river Thames, was shot by Mario Testino, to whom Christopher Bailey is always faithful because he captures the essence of Burberry so well. The video commercial is accompanied by Misty Miller's cover of 'Happy Together', which you will remember because it opened the latest Burberry FW13 show in London. It's available to download from iTunes here and you can listen to it anytime on Spotify here.

JustJared
Only two days after Burberry Prorsum's FW13 show on Monday Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kate Beckinsale, who looked amazing on the front row, have been spotted bags from the new collection. Rosie was seen arriving at LAX wearing one of the key bag models from the collection – leather structured panels contrast with a soft inner pouch in shaved pony skin printed with hearts. Beckinsale wore the same bag but with the outside in zebra print shaved pony skin and a leather pouch.
I have a feeling this bag has already become one of the key accessories to have and it has only been three days! Another of my favourites from the collection is the 'crush clutch', which just like the bags to the right come in a variety of colours and materials and is super chic!

The British Fashion Awards 2012
BFA12a
The British Fashion Awards 2012

Last night Giulia and I attended the 2012 British Fashion Awards at the Savoy Theatre in London. We were beyond excited not only because it's the fashion event of the year in the UK but also because it was our first time at any sort of award ceremony – unless you count school?
Even tough we knew that not everyone in the industry would interpret the black tie instructions quite so literally we jump at any opportunity of dressing to the nines. Giulia in a stunning Galliano gown with lace and ruffle details and me in a more expected outfit spiced up with my favourite new Lanvin flower pin.

It was an amazing experience sitting in the theatre and having all these amazingly talented and accomplished people in front of us. Our hearts stopped a little when, to kick off the awards, Nick Grimshaw and Gemma Arterton announced that Valentino – Legend – Garavani would be giving the British Style Award, which went to Alexa Chung for the third year in a row. We loved that Manolo Blahnik won the Outstanding Achievement in Fashion introduced by a lovely video of Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington, Angelica Houston and Naomi Campbell singing his praise. He received the award from Zaha Hadid, a favourite hero of mine!
Amber Valetta – we died again – gave Stella McCartney one of her two awards of the night: Designer Brand and Designer of the Year. They both look ridiculously beautiful last night. Less of a surprise was Cara Delevingne's award for Model of the Year. She literally rocked the stage with a shirt metallic number by Burberry, of course.
I was also thrilled to see J.W. Anderson win the Emerging Talent award for Ready-to-Wear. He is one of the most talented designers in London and a personal favourite. Jonathan Saunders, Roksanda Ilincic, Erdem and Nicholas Kirkwood all received awards for all their amazing work during this year. Kim Jones got the Menswear Designer award for his work at Louis Vuitton, another very well deserved one. One of the highlights of the night was the emotional moment of Louise Wilson, who won the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator for her years of work at Central Saint Martins, where he has taught many of the best British designers.

Burberry is always the biggest and most exciting show in London. And every season I can't believe I am one of the lucky ones who gets to see it live at the beautiful venue they build for the occasion in Kensington Palace.
This season Burberry is streaming their SS13 show live at Hyde Park, at a live event in their newest flagship store on Regent Street, all of course as well of the usual Burberry online experience where you will be able to buy pieces during the show through Burberry.com
Make sure not to miss the show, we have been told it sill start bang on 4pm, which is a fashion week first!

If, like me, you can't wait for 4pm, take a look at their teaser trailer here.

First look at Burberry’s Regent Street flagship store, the biggest yet
Today Burberry opens their newest flagship store in London's Regent Street. The new space is the brand's largest to date with over 44,000 square feet totally devoted to the world of Burberry. The brand has this incredible ability to create unique atmospheres that really transport you to their world. A great example is their head office in London, which is as beautiful as it is technologically impressive. Burberry is also bringing to their new store new technologies (they're pioneers in this, after all) but they have also focused on conserving the amazing 19th century building that is their new home. They have restored many of the original features – I am in love with the old school entrance! – proving once again that no one marries heritage and forward-thinking like them.
With London Fashion Week kicking off later this week this is the best possible time to open this great new space to the public. I personally cannot wait to stop by and marvel at the architectural wonders of the building. And hopefully Burberry is planning an opening party in style with live music. No one beats them at this either.

Doutzen Kroes models my favourite FW12 pieces for Vogue Paris

Doutzen Kroes models my favourite FW12 pieces for Vogue Paris
TFS, Style.com
I received the August issue of Vogue Paris this weekend and even though I've been drooling over the Marion Cotillard cover for the most part I have also managed to take a look inside. I always really enjoy the August issues because there's just enough new season content to digest. The September issues are amazing to go through but they take several goes to process. Vogue Paris always does a long new season editorial story for August. This year's is called 'Paris mon amour' and is shot entirely by Mario Sorrenti (like 90% of the issue) and styled by Emmanuelle Alt, Joe McKenna and Marie Chaix. There are some incredible shots in it and I love how each stylist brings their different view to the story. My favourite, though, are the Doutzen Kroes pictures styled by Emmanuelle.
I've been infatuated with Doutzen ever since I saw her at the Giles show last season and I'm glad that Vogue Paris has got behind her. She even got her own cover in April. In the new editorial she models some of my favourite pieces from the FW12 collections. From the black croc Tom Ford number that Rihanna already rocked at the Met Ball, to the Miu Miu winter prints that will be all over the covers in a few months. The sexy emerald leopard Gucci dress Natasha Poly wore in Cannes and the stunning Burberry Prorsum quilted velvet coat that closed the FW12 show.

I love how chameleonic Joan Smalls is. She is one of the few models who is just as versatile on the runway as in editorial. I love how after covering the July issue of the American version of W with a romantic and girly vibe she can transform into a tough girl for the August cover of W Korea. And I love that she does it wearing one of my favourite pieces from the FW12 collections – the Burberry Prorsum trench with the Prince of Wales tweed peplum.
It's also nice to see what is clearly only the first of many FW12 Burberry pieces styled in a sexier way than at the show. But you can always count on Joan to add a sexy edge to everything she does.

Best Dressed of the Weekend- Jennifer Aniston shines in Burberry

Best Dressed of the Weekend: Jennifer Aniston shines in Burberry
JustJared, Courtesy of Burberry
It hasn't been a particularly exciting weekend in terms of fashion. Thankfully, you can always count on people like Beyoncé and Jennifer Aniston to keep things interesting.
Queen B, who looks like she never carried a baby a few weeks ago, seems to have been taking fashion tips from her sister Solange. She looked incredible in a Surface to Air yellow short suit, which she paired with an also yellow tee, a McQueen clutch and this season's Prada turbo heels.
Jennifer Aniston attended the American Film Institute Gala honouring Shirley Maclaine in a stunning  white crepe evening dress with cutaway back by Burberry. She is looking better than ever, like she's glowing!
Malin Akerman, who already made it into a BDOTW list back in April, is currently on her press tour for 'Rock of Ages'. She is beginning to wear slightly more interesting things but there is still a long way to go. Last night, she slipped into a really nice Marchesa dress for the London premiere of the film. I can't say that I am in love with the dress but there was something interesting about this look. Perhaps it was he fact that it was monochrome, which looks nice with her blonde hair and the pop of colour of the red lips.

Get the Look- Kristen Stewart’s airport chic

Get the look: Kristen Stewart's airport chic
Net-a-Porter, Courtesy of Burberry
London's weather has got a bit gloomier (yet again) and I feel like it's the perfect time to get some inspiration from Kristen Stewart. I am a much bigger fun of her looks off the red carpet.
Kristen wore this ensemble to the right when she arrived into JFK airport yesterday. She paired a skinny pair of grey jeans (similar to the Victoria Beckham ones I chose) with a loose grey tee (like this one from J. Crew). She added two of her favourite statement, if subtle, accessories – the Balenciaga motorcycle jacket she has in several colours and she's been wearing everywhere and the super chic Burberry leather bowling bag from the FW12 collection.
I love Kristen in looks like this one because she looks so comfortable and at ease – unlike on the red carpet – and, hence, über cool. Plus, I love a woman who doesn't need a pair of high heels and a cocktails dress to look sexy.

What do you think?

Burberry unveils their FW12 Campaign!

Burberry unveils their FW12 Campaign!

Today Burberry released their latest ad campaign for the FW12 collection featuring actress Gabrielle Wilde and musicians Roo Panes. Their names might not ring a bell straight away just yet but their faces will. They both rocked Burberry ensembles at the latest edition of the Met Ball in New York.
The feel of the campaign, shot by Mario Testino under the creative direction of Christopher Bailey, is so different from what we've seen before I am in love with the mysteriously romantic air of the photos. I love the cinematic feel and how you can see that there is a story behind each still yet you're not sure what it is.
And, of course, this aesthetic fits right in with the FW12 collection, which brought together traditional British elements bringing them to the 21st century.
For the first time ever Burberry.com will offer a "click-to-buy" on the campaign – all the pieces on the ads will be available to buy online from June 1. From June 6th the campaign pieces will also be available in Burberry stores globally!

Click here to see the rest of the campaign pictures and for a (beautifully shot) look at the behind-the-scenes of the campaign story shoot!

Met Ball 2012- The Best Dressed, Part II
MetBall12part2a
Met Ball 2012: The Best Dressed, Part II
Courtesy of Prada, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, JustJared
As I said this morning I couldn't just post about my five favourite looks from this year's Met Ball. Last night I would have sworn I didn't like too many looks but after having a look at images of everyone I missed on the red carpet I changed my mind.
There seemed to be mixed feeling about Kristen Dunst in her Rodarte ensemble. But I loved the fact that it was unlike anything she has worn before and completely different from everyone else. I loved the colour, the cut, the lace detail under the blazer and the belt. It was perfectly styled and she looked ultra cool.
It kind of bothers me that no one ever puts Anna Wintour in the best dressed lists. I utterly adored this lobster Prada gown she wore last night. It was chic and fun and she looked so elegant. I simply love the fact that she always stays true to her style.
Bianca Brandolini went for a gilded Dolce & Gabbana number that obviously shone beautifully under the red carpet lights. This would have been such an exaggerated and over-the-top look on someone else but Bianca is so elegant and classy that she just looks like (fashion) royalty.
I was happy to see January Jones back in shape in an Atelier Versace gown. It has taken her a while to get her mojo back after the pregnancy but she is quickly getting there. The dress had such a different vibe than on the runway and I really liked the turquoise in the necklace, which gave the look a new dimension.

Giovanna Battaglia's Dolce & Gabbana dress put a smile on my face. It was so tremendously Italian and full of character but Gio wore it in such a young and chic way. And the braid and flower headband were such a great call!
Rooney Mara looked her edgy-meets-rocky-chic usual self. I guess none of us doubted she was going to wear Givenchy. I just wished she would have gone for a bit more drama or a different colour. But I loved the combination of lace and leather, Riccardo.
Cara Delevingne was one of the most fashion-forward attendees. I couldn't have loved her velvet Burberry dress any more. It was a stunning shape and I loved the detail of the collar and the studded Burberry gloves. How unfair is it that she gets to look so great wearing next season's clothes?

I was so excited to be able to watch the Met Ball red carpet live online! It was a brilliant and very intertaining experience thanks to the shouting photographers. It's been hard to cut it down to a top 5 (there will be a part 2 coming up later today) but these are my favourites this year.
Gwyneth Paltrow wore a short Prada, which I love not only because she looked incredibly hot and radiant in it but because a super short number is always daring for an evening occasion like this. I appreciate her courage.
Some of the same goes for Kate Bosworth who also wore Prada. What's interesting is this ombré feather dress would have looked very plain on anyone else but Kate choice of hair and make up give it a slick and slightly 20's vibe that was super sophisticated.
I was absolutely in love with Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe. It's the first time Rach has taken a model date in her design and what a way to kick it off! It was like being transported to the Hollywood of the 50's. It was such a glamorous look and so different from everyone else.
I can't even say how happy I was to see Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Burberry. The stripped gown with long sleeves and the embellished neckline was so elegant. It is amazing to think how innovative the materials that Christopher Bailey uses are and how they can work so well with a Sofia Loren hairdo. Stunning.
Diane Kruger was also one of the bravest girls of the night. Her purple Prada gown played with the combination of black tie and casual clothing. I just loved the effect of the low strappy top as it transforms into a tray finishing off with feathers. She is incredible.

Introducing Burberry White

Burberry always has great timing launching their new products. Last year's 'April showers' collection was simply genius and came a exactly the right time. Even though we could have probably done with more of it this year – what the hell is wrong with the weather? – Burberry have decided to go a different direction this time.

The collection is all created with soft, lightweight and breathable fabrics so that the garments can be worn in the summer. I find the white trench super chic, I love it with the grey t-shirt and they're perfect for our darling British summer – if it ever bothers to show up.
Burberry White also introduces a line of white accessories and a limited edition Burberry Brit Summer fragrances. And, as usual, the campaign comes with a stunning video you shouldn't miss if only for the brilliant acoustic version of "Build me up Buttercup".

Currently obsessed with Sonam Kapoor’s style

I have to admit it usually takes me a while to get used to new celebrity faces. I like my usual suspects a bit too much sometimes. But every once in a while someone catches my attention and it's precisely because of how seldom this happens that I always know they're good.
This is the case of Sonam Kapoor, who I have been seeing everywhere lately and whose style I've become a huge fan of. I can't quite put my finger on how she does it but there is always something very lady-like about all her looks. Very sophisticated and put together. But there is also something incredibly modern about how she wears things.
I was first very pleasantly surprised with her subtle Burberry moment at the show in London last week. She wore a simple trench coat with a striking trim and hinted a pleated skirt underneath. I think I properly fell in love because of this Salvatore Ferragamo look she rocked last week. And confirmation came only a few days ago when she attended the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show in Milan wearing one of the famous dresses from the SS12 collection. But my absolute definite favourite so far is Sonam in Roberto Cavalli. She also attended the show in Milan yesterday and looked incredibly chic! She pulls of the mix of snake and leopard print with the fur detailing like she does it every day. This moment makes me think of what Olivia Palermo would be like if she had an edge.

The Best Music Tracks from London Fashion Week

*Listen to the songs by clicking on the different iPods.

Even though London Fashion Week is over and we're onto Milan I feel like it always takes me another week to properly digest everything I've seen at the shoes. Including the music. If you talked to my flatmate he could tell you I have been repeatedly streaming the same part of the Burberry show just to listen to "this song I loved". I could not, for the life of me, figure out who was it by. The same happened with another two tracks – one from Acne and one from Roksanda Ilincic. Thank God for mobile phone apps that can recognise songs! They have saved me a whole lot of effort.
Needless to say, I bought the songs off iTunes as soon as I made sure that I had got them right. My absolute favourite, 'Numb' by Marina & The Diamonds, just gives me goose bumps. I guess it's a combination of how good the song is and the memory of the velvets and rich colours from the Burberry Prorsum show.
'Remember (Walkin' in the Sand)' by The Shangri-Las, from the Roksanda Ilincic finale, really makes me want to dance and brings back the luxe sportswear and exquisite coats from the collection.
And from the Acne finale,  'Blue Monday 1988' by New Order, which even creative director Johnny Johansson could not resist shaking it to as he took a bow.

Burberry Prorsum FW12- Christopher Bailey at his best
BurberryFW12b
Burberry Prorsum FW12: Christopher Bailey at his best
Courtesy of Burberry
The Burberry Prorsum winter collections are always more exciting than spring because outerwear is the brand's strength. I knew after seeing the menswear collection in Milan last January that the new womenswear line was going to be particularly exciting.
Burberry had set once again their staple see-through tent in the middle of the beautiful Kensington Gardens where they held over a thousands guests (!) including front row regulars like Mario Testino and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and, my favourite, Kate Bosworth – post coming up.
The show opened with some of the signature Burberry styles we have seen in the past but soon became a spectacular display of colour, shape and texture, which was very interesting for Burberry and took it back to its roots after the summer trip to Africa. There were much fewer reinterpretations of the trench coat for FW12. Instead we saw the reinvention of more utilitarian pieces like the Barbour jacket or the down jacket that were cropped, more fitted and made in richer materials and with more attention to detail. My favourite was probably the bolero Barbour number Jourdan Dunn walked down the runway.

As I had mentioned after looking at the Pre-Fall 2012 collection I was expecting a lot more evening and cocktail wear this season. Burberry has been doing a lot of custom-made gowns  – most notably Adele's latest elegant hits – for the last few months and it seemed only logical to add some options to the catwalk.
Bailey didn't quite get into gowns just yet but he did delivered a handful of knock-out cocktail pieces like a burgundy printed number or an über-sexy fringed dress with stripe details.
My other favourite bit from the collection were the skirts. Burberry has also become well known for their pencil skirts, which are the best way to accompany their trench coats. After their stripy hits for SS12 Bailey has turned to earthy-coloured tweeds with the most beautiful zig-zag ruffle details at the front. But there were also a lot of peplums. Whether as attachments to coats or at their more traditional use on skirts they were also stunning and looked great with the cute velvet bow belts that tied the collection together.
If you haven't yet take a look at the entire collection because there is not a single item that should be missed. Pay special attention to the accessories – studded and snakeskin gloves, velvet and leather belts, new bags, iPad covers... and, my absolute favourite, the umbrellas that so beautifully closed the show. Click here to see the full video of the collection.

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in fashion-forwardness and designers working with new futuristic materials that we tend to take for granted the ones that actually play a role both on the catwalk and in the day to day of fashion. This is why I thought that the 'Merino. No Finer Feeling' campaign was such a great idea.
The campaign is a 5-year global campaign which aims to educate and inform consumers about the benefits of Merino wool. You might think (I know I did) that you already know about it because you wear it all the time but did you know that Merino Wool is natural, biodegradable and renewable? I didn't. That makes it the perfect eco-fabric to work with. Not to mention how soft it is to the touch. I not only buy my jumpers and scarves in Merino Wool but also my tracksuit bottoms!
And don't think this extends only to classic or high street pieces. Take London Fashion Week designers. Merino Wool was present in all of the biggest SS12 collections shown here – Erdem, Christopher Kane, Jonathan Saunders, Richard Nicoll, Acne, Burberry Prorsum, Paul Smith, Mulberry, Markus Lupfer. Impressive, huh?
Merino have also recently relaunched their website, Merino.com, where you can learn everything about the fibre itself and all its different uses as well as news.

Gossip Girl Fashion- ‘The Back-Up Dan’
GGs5e14
Gossip Girl Fashion: 'The Back-Up Dan'
Courtesy of Burberry, Style.com, HomeoftheNutty.com
This week's episode of Gossip Girl picked up where last week's 100th episode left off, which usually means a slightly more exciting episode but no wardrobe changes. This time, however, we get a bit of a taste of both worlds.
It's odd because I only seem to get properly into the plot when things change 180 degrees every 30 seconds, which is worrying me, like I have a Gossip Girl-specific ADD. I just feel like now that there are no new characters and everyone's done everything with everybody is hard to surprise the audience.
Fashion-wise it was also a pretty good episode. The best moment was, of course, by Serena. Once she leaves Blair's wedding reception she covers her Vera Wang dress in the stunning lace Burberry trench from the 'Nude' collection. I was thrilled to see the trench hit the screen. I loved the look, with the organza train flowing out of the coat – one of the best looks from this season.
Blair has a (sort of) double hit this week. One for the Pre-Fall'11 Carolina Herrera dress she wears at the end of the episode – I can't emphasise enough how this is her style – and one for her I (heart) NY 'trackie' look at the airport. I didn't think Blair had it in her but it was a fun GG moment.
